Buyer's guide
What designer fragrances should I sell on Temu UK?
Temu demand and pricing must be tested in your own account. Use our trade buying pattern to choose retail-ready fragrances, then list accurately and reorder from evidence.
Which designer fragrances are suited to a Temu listing?
Start with genuine, retail-ready Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum in familiar sizes, then confirm each proposed listing is permitted in your Temu seller account before buying. Sterling Trading Group supplies the brand’s own products in retail packaging, with batch codes, which gives you a clear product to photograph, describe and dispatch.
Our best-selling line is Hugo Boss Orange for Women Eau de Toilette 30ml. The following lines also sell strongly through our trade customers and provide sensible candidates for an initial test, particularly where you want recognised fragrance formats rather than a large, unfocused range.
This order reflects what the trade buys from us:
- Hugo Boss Orange for Women Eau de Toilette 30ml
- JOOP. for Men 200ml Eau de Toilette
- Calvin Klein Obsession Eau de Parfum 50ml
- Hugo Boss Dark Blue Eau de Toilette 75ml
- Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers Eau de Toilette 50ml
- Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum 100ml
- Calvin Klein Eternity Eau de Parfum 100ml
- Giorgio Armani Emporio Diamonds 50ml Eau de Parfum Spray
Choose products that can be described plainly from the box: the exact fragrance name, concentration, size and presentation. Avoid building listings around vague terms such as “designer scent” when the retail pack gives you specific details to use. A buyer should be able to see exactly what they are receiving, including whether it is Eau de Toilette or Eau de Parfum and the stated millilitre size.
What sells on Temu, and how should you price it?
Test demand in your own Temu account, but use trade buying patterns to decide which fragrance types and sizes deserve the first listings. In our experience, Eau de Toilette sells better than Eau de Parfum, followed by Deodorant, Deodorant Spray, Aftershave and Eau de Cologne.
The sizes that sell best for us are 50ml, then 100ml, 30ml, 75ml, 200ml and 125ml. That makes standard fragrance sizes a more practical place to begin than unusual formats. A smaller size can suit a lower-commitment purchase, while larger bottles may appeal where the product is already familiar to the buyer. Test both only where the product name and strength are clear enough to prevent confusion.
Set your selling price from current comparable Temu listings and your own fulfilment position, rather than using a fixed wholesale rule. Allow for marketplace requirements, packing, dispatch, returns and relevant tax treatment before deciding whether a line is workable. A product that appears popular is not automatically suitable if competing listings leave no room for reliable fulfilment and customer service.
Check comparable listings carefully. Compare like with like: the same fragrance, concentration, size and packaging. Do not compare a 30ml Eau de Toilette with a 100ml Eau de Parfum simply because the brand name is similar. If several sellers use unclear descriptions, a precise title and accurate images may help your listing stand apart without making claims that the packaging does not support.
What does a Temu fragrance seller need to get right?
Accuracy, traceability and compliant fulfilment are the essentials. Keep supplier invoices and product records, retain the retail packaging, and do not remove or alter batch codes.
Your listing should match the product in hand. State the fragrance name exactly as it appears on the packaging, together with the strength and size. Use photographs that show the actual retail pack where possible, and make sure the image, title and description all refer to the same variant. Keep different sizes, strengths and gift formats in separate listings unless Temu’s current variation rules allow them to be grouped clearly.
Check Temu’s current seller requirements for branded goods, product documentation, listing content and dispatch before publishing a line. Do not claim brand authorisation unless you hold it. Sterling Trading Group is an independent wholesaler buying from UK distributors and is not an authorised distributor of any brand.
Fragrance also needs careful handling after the sale. Confirm the accepted dispatch method with your carrier and check any marketplace requirements that apply to alcohol-containing products. Pack retail boxes so they arrive in saleable condition, and have a clear process for returns, damaged parcels and stock identification. A batch-coded product is easier to trace when your own records remain organised from receipt through to dispatch.
What should a first Temu order look like?
Make the first order a small, mixed test centred on lines that appear both among our best sellers and among the fragrances shops buy again. This gives you a starting range with repeat trade demand while leaving room to learn which products suit your own listings and fulfilment process.
A practical opening selection could include:
- JOOP. for Men 200ml Eau de Toilette
- Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers Eau de Toilette 50ml
- Hugo Boss Dark Blue Eau de Toilette 75ml
- Marc Jacobs Dot Eau de Parfum 100ml
- Calvin Klein Eternity Eau de Parfum 100ml
These lines are useful starting points because they occur in both buying patterns. The lines shops buy again also include Calvin Klein Obsession for Men Eau de Toilette 125ml, Joop. Go Eau de Toilette 100ml and Calvin Klein Eternity Moment for Women Eau de Parfum 100ml. Consider these only once you have seen which strengths, sizes and product descriptions perform reliably in your account.
Do not try to represent every fragrance house in the first order. We list 5570 fragrance lines across 441 houses, but a broad catalogue is not the same as a useful opening range. Begin with products you can list accurately, store safely and replenish with confidence. Then reorder the lines that generate dependable demand, rather than adding stock simply because a brand is well known.
There is no minimum order with Sterling Trading Group, so you can test without committing to a large spread. Collection from Hayes, West London is free, and UK delivery is free over the applicable threshold.
