Sterling Trading Group Ltd is the data controller for the information collected on this site. This page says what we collect, why, and for how long.

What we collect

When you apply for a trade account: your business name and type, how you sell, your name, email address and phone number, your invoice and delivery addresses, any company or VAT number you give us, and anything you write in the form. When you place an order: what you ordered, the address it goes to and any note you add. When you log in: the time and the internet address the login came from, which we keep to protect your account.

Why

To decide whether to open a trade account, to supply and invoice your orders, to contact you about them, and to meet our legal obligations (including keeping VAT records). The legal basis is the contract between us, and our legitimate interest in running a wholesale business and keeping accounts secure. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.

Who sees it

Our staff, the carriers who deliver your orders (name, address and phone for the parcel), our accountants, and any service we use to send you email about your account. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else.

Cookies and storage

The site sets one cookie, to keep you logged in, and keeps your basket in your browser's own storage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

How long

Account and order records are kept for six years after your last order, as tax law requires. An application that is not approved is deleted after twelve months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email sales@sterlingtradinggroup.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
